We love projects that make a difference in the community, and this one was especially rewarding.
We were asked to help renovate a Scout Activity Centre and Campsite to replace an old and delapidated shower & toilet block. This we did, and the two photos show some of the finished result. We received a wonderful testimonial from one of the organisers which we always appreciate.
"Could I ask you to pass on my sincere thanks to you, Bob and Sam, for successfully completing the shower project in double quick time and on budget. You were an excellent team. As a result we received appreciative comments from the Combined authority along with the Mayoral office, to all of which we can draw attention at a public celebration open day in early summer, to which you will be invited.
It seems that the central government funding programme for refurbishment and renewal of local community facing buildings like ours will be continued for the current financial year - again at probably very short notice.
Both the Scouts and Kent Building are now in a good place with the Combined Authority and the Mayoral Office, so it will be worth keeping our eyes open to see if the terms for this year offer us any scope, without having to struggle with all of the processes of the National Lottery in all its forms."
